This semester, the Suffolk in the Hub students have been working hard to create meaningful connections on campus, focused on their unique interests. With the launch of two new podcasts and one more on the way, hosts Aaron Blatt, Imani Chanka, Thomas Dempsey, and Ryan Webb are sharing fresh perspectives on topics Suffolk students are passionate about.

 

The Captain’s Corner, hosted by Suffolk University Men’s Hockey captains Thomas Dempsey and Ryan Webb, offers a look into the lives of Suffolk’s student-athletes. This podcast isn’t just about sports—it’s about the everyday lives of student-athletes. From navigating the recruiting process to balancing academics, athletics, and city life, it dives into the unique challenges and triumphs that come with being a student-athlete. Each episode highlights a different member of Suffolk’s athletic community, giving a better perspective on what makes Suffolk athletics special. Dempsey and Webb’s passion for connection and storytelling shines through as they reflect on their own experiences and foster conversations that celebrate the Ram spirit. 

 

Hosted by Imani Chanka, Let’s Go Clubbin’ takes listeners on a journey into the diverse world of Suffolk University’s clubs, groups, and organizations. With so many communities to explore, finding the right fit can feel overwhelming, but this podcast helps students find their perfect niche. Its focus on the passions that drive Suffolk students to go the extra mile for what they love will hopefully. The debut episodes gave students a glimpse into three different clubs. Whether you're eager to join a club or simply curious about the incredible communities on campus, Let’s Go Clubbin’ provides a fun and insightful guide to making connections and finding where you belong at Suffolk.

 

As Suffolk in the Hub and Suffolk students look forward to the spring semester, sophomore Aaron Blatt is looking into the importance of finance in students' lives. The podcast will teach students about financial concepts and connect them to real-life experiences. It’s geared toward students and those aspiring to work in finance, the podcast will feature conversations with alumni and professionals, offering advice on navigating the job market, building financial independence, and mastering topics like budgeting, credit building, and investing basics.

 

With the support of Suffolk in the Hub and Studio 73, the creators behind these podcasts are excited to see where their projects will lead, hoping to inspire, connect, and make a lasting impact on the Suffolk community.
