Spose Returns to Suffolk

Rapper and Creator Ryan “Spose” Peters will be returning to Suffolk for a special Q/A event hosted by Suffolk in the Hub

Who is Spose?

Wells, Maine native Ryan Peters was just 24 years old when he was commuting weekly to Boston to finish his degree at Suffolk. A new dad at the time, Ryan was also making rap music on the side under the artist name Spose. Ryan used the early days of social media to promote his music, and while at Suffolk, a major record label offered him a deal to make an album. Peters took the deal, left for LA, and learned the hard way that the entertainment industry is cutthroat and unforgiving. After months, upon months of pressure, stress, anxiety, and depression, the record label let him go, and Spose returned to Wells, Maine to figure out what to make of his life.

Ryan picked himself up and continued his music career independently, further growing his fanbase over the last 15 years. Across all platforms, Spose, the self-proclaimed King of Maine, amasses millions of streams.  His biggest hit, “I'm Awesome,” has over 14 million streams on Spotify and 18 million views on YouTube. His latest album, What Could Go Wrong? dropped in 2024, and he is already working on new music.

Ryan hasn’t returned to Suffolk…until now.

On Nov. 13 at 8 pm in the MCLE auditorium, Ryan “Spose” Peters will be returning to Suffolk for a special Q/A event hosted by Suffolk in the Hub. Moderated by Professor Kimberley Ring, the lively and motivating discussion will deliver poignant messages of perseverance, personal strength, storytelling, and creativity.

This event is a full-circle moment for Ryan and an inspiring opportunity for Suffolk students to hear his journey and learn about resilience while pursuing their passions in the real world.
